Terms & Conditions

Hillside Cottage has been recently renovated and tastefully decorated with period furniture, paintings and possessions we have collected from our overseas travels. We have spent a lot of time and love bringing the property to the standard you will find it, so we request you treat the cottage as if it were your own home. It is a wonderful place to unwind and relax. The following points are simply to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.


 Once we have confirmed your reservation we ask for a 50% deposit to be paid and this is non-refundable. The balance of the booking must be paid 30 days before you arrive.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation charges apply as follows:

  • 14-29 days prior to arrival 50% of the balance of the booking will be refunded
  • Less than 14 days –– Sorry we are a small business and we cannot make a refund unless we can secure a replacement booking.


We will advise total cost for your stay in an email to you and advise payment options and timings. We prefer Paypal as both parties are secure, however, we are happy to accept Direct Bank transfers too. As we are a small business we are not set up to receive credit card payments at this stage.


Excess cleaning fee, Damage and Security deposit

Please respect our beautiful cottage and leave it tidy. Whilst we expect to undertake normal cleaning requirements, (we do charge a one-off cleaning fee of $100) if additional cleaning is required we will deduct this from the Damage and Security deposit. Furniture should be replaced if moved and we request that dishes and cooking utensils are washed and put away before you leave. Whilst we accept accidents can occur, we ask you to let us know what damages have taken place so we can assess the charge for repair or replacement. In this respect we ask for a deposit of $300 to be paid 7 days before arrival to ensure it is in our account 48 hours before check-in. This will be refunded immediately after we have inspected the house. (Usually within 48 hours).

Hillside Cottage is available for holiday rental only. This means there cannot be any parties or functions without our prior approval. Also as Hillside Cottage is located close to the centre of the village and as a courtesy to our neighbours you cannot play loud music either inside the house or in the garden.

Numbers of Guests

The total amount of adults and children who can stay will be agreed at the time of the booking. Should you wish to entertain visitors during your stay please contact Gayle immediately. We respectfully ask that you do not exceed the agreed number of staying guests and visitors once/or if the number has been agreed with Gayle, as it will be embarrassing for us to have to ask for an additional payment. We are unable to accept pets.
